The job of a leader, CEO or any job for that matter is your job. Truth is you can have it. Every business leader has a threefold responsibility- to keep investors happy, to satisfy and retain customers and to encourage and prop on employees for greater productively. If you have capacity to deliver on all three above, then you are the leader being sought for.

In achieving the threefold task requires decisions.

Decisions are choice made from limited options with conscious awareness that the chosen path holds benefits when it goes well and it could also result in difficulties. For a leader, the fear of failure or making a mistake is not enough to stop them from moving ahead with decisions. A leader may not be sure of all that the decision will bring but their resolve to handle the aftermath is a success streak that compels positive actions.

For many leaders, they will swear never to make a mistake while taking decisions. I have never met an honest leader who has never made a mistake or admitting to have made a mistake. I have met so many others who claims all their decisions have gone right. I always take their statements was half-truths. Leaders make mistakes and a wise leaders learn from mistakes, but it is better for them to learn from the mistakes of others. This is because the cost of every mistake is heavy. The truth about life is that some discoveries were actually recorded out of mistakes. So when you find yourself making a mistake as a leader, always know that you are threding the path of great Chief Executive Officers

The bottom line is that you must be ready to make principled decisions through hard work that will affect the threesome areas outlined above.  Leadership decision making and seeing through its fruition is not “come and chop” affair. It is a result of rigorous, delicate hard work and commitment to execution with challenging finishing skills.

Unfortunately, many who want to be leaders focus on the wealth, the visibility, the power and the status that comes with the job thereby making them fall to a horrible end? Leadership is not about efforts, it is not about processes either. It is about results. The ability to creatively bring about a result that makes dramatic improvement possible and gets promises turned into visualized realities. The results that are gotten with and through men, when they are creatively brought together to fulfill a mission. This is what makes one a leader.
