1. Build relationships and networks. Leaders everywhere when working with people must prioritize their relationship with other people. The depth of leadership rests on the relationship they have with people they work with. Leaders build relationships and network through integrity, trust and caring for their people.
  2. Start with what you have. In leadership, you don’t need to borrow talents, competencies or assets. To lead, start with your natural abilities – either singing, artistic works, dancing or serving people. Every leader is endowed with a special gift or talent that endears them to other people.
  3. Get a mentor. Having a mentor or a coach will give direction and guidance that will help the leader stay on course and be effective. Mentors build confidence and courage in their mentees and make them ride on their experience instead of them going through the bitter lessons of life.
